This in-conversation with Laurence Tubiana, CEO of the European Climate Foundation and Peter Mandelson, Chairman at Global Counsel will look ahead at the road to Glasgow, and what will make COP26 a success to uphold the legacy of the Paris Agreement. It will also explore how international climate diplomacy and the wider political environment has changed in the years since the Paris Agreement was agreed, and how this will impact what we can expect from governments next November.
Key questions the session will explore:
- How have geopolitics changed since Paris and what impact will it have for Glasgow?
- What do the UK and Italian presidencies need to do to deliver a successful outcome?
- What is the role of the private sector in the lead up and at COP26 and how should they be engaging?
Laurence Tubiana is CEO of the European Climate Foundation (ECF). In addition, she is the Chair of the Board of Directors at the French Development Agency (AFD). Before joining the ECF, Laurence was France’s Climate Change Ambassador and Special Representative for COP21, and as such, a key architect of the landmark Paris Agreement.
