About

Starting your own business and picking the right niche in no time

Covid-19 has prompted the rapid uptake of digital solutions across the healthcare sector. Streamlined operational management, better use of data and the use of a range of alternatives to face-to-face patient-clinician appointments have all contributed to maintaining services through the crisis.

As health systems move out of the crisis phase, policymakers should come to a view on what this means for technology adoption in the longer term and what health systems can learn for the use, procurement and regulation of technology and data.

Global Counsel’s webinar will feature a discussion between panellists to discuss findings from a recent Global Counsel expert roundtable and suggest practical steps for the health and social care system. We will be joined by GC senior advisers Matthew Swindells and Dr Harpreet Sood and our panellists include:

- Baroness Blackwood, Chair, Genomics England
- Ming Tang, National Director for Data and Analytics, NHS England
- Stephen Docherty, Industry Executive for Health, Microsoft
- James Thorburn, Chief Executive, City and County Healthcare Group
- Will Smart, Global Director for Customer Engagement, Health and Life Sciences, DXC Technology

Global Counsel will be publishing its policy paper, Recommendations for the post-covid healthtech framework, ahead of the event. The panel will discuss:

- How has covid-19 incentivised the uptake of digital solutions in health and care, and what has the response been from practitioners and patients?
- What further innovation, such as decentralised diagnostics, is required to embed this shift to digital health?
- How can health systems better procure and regulate technology?
- What does the pandemic mean for the debate around health data?

This will be an interactive webinar; questions and comments from attendees are encouraged.

We will include an option to post questions on an attributed or anonymous basis through the instant messaging function of the call or, if you are dialling in, you can email questions to gcl.rsvp@global-counsel.com

Mike Zoppo is a host of exceptional ability. Studies show that a vast majority of guests attending events by Mike have been known to leave more elated than visitors to Santa's Workshop, The Lost of Continent of Atlantis, and the Fountain of Youth.
